Abstract
In order to test the allowable wave crossing capacity of the seawall on the south and west sides of Ma′an north island in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, as well as the anti-scouring stability of the protective surfaces on the top of the seawall, the water-facing slope and the water-back slope, and to ensure the scientific and safe design of the seawall, based on the existing flood control problems on the south and west sides of Ma′an north island and the original design plan of the seawall, we conducted a cross-sectional physical model test. We verified whether the wave-crossing capacity of the breakwater wall at the design section of the revetment could meet the requirements of the engineering design standards, and on this basis, the stability of the block and the wave pressure on the breakwater wall were discussed. The results showed that the original design schemes of the seawall on the west and south sides cannot remain stable under the action of waves. And it was necessary to adjust the elevation of the wave wall and optimize the design. It was suggested that the southern section of the seawall adopted an L-shaped wave wall, and the western section of the seawall, on the basis of the original design, adopted the mangrove wave dissipation and ecological revetment type to achieve an effective combination of embankment safety and ecological landscape.
